When a stream does not show up, there should be a reason.

Nothing detected?

1. Start playback and wait a few seconds while segments load.
2. Open the extension popup again and check diagnostics.
3. Try Firefox for the strongest detection path.
4. If the page uses DRM, Stream Save will not download it.

What works best?

• Direct MP4 or WebM links
• HLS playlists ending in .m3u8
• Simple DASH manifests with a combined BaseURL
• Pages where the browser can already access the media

Known limits

• DRM is not supported.
• Complex DASH templates are still roadmap work.
• Browser HLS output is currently .ts.
• Chrome and Edge detect fewer streams than Firefox.

Native helper

The optional helper can use local ffmpeg for muxing and advanced workflows. It is not required for ordinary browser downloads.
